NEWS: Rain stops play at Marks Tey
17 March 2008
Yesterday's scheduled classic scramble at Marks Tey had to be cancelled after treacherous weather conditions battered the circuit in the run-up to the event.
At around 7.30am yesterday, the decision was made to abandon the scramble and a large number of the vehicles in the paddock had to be towed out by Dave Godley and Greg Radley in their off-road vehicles.
Abandoning the event also safeguarded the use of the track as a car park for the Marks Tey Horse Racing event due to take place on Easter Monday 24th of March, as the track would have been churned up considerably.
It is not yet known if the classic scramble will be re-scheduled for later in the year.

NEWS: British 2-stroke Series abolished
19 November 2007
Unfortunatley, the British 2-stroke Series turned out be just another Greeves race as competitors on other makes of bikes often had to choose between this and other events, with the BTSS often missing out.
Because of this, despite being a success in terms of the number of competitors, the series will not continue next year.
Thank you to those who supported the series and apologies to those who may be disappointed.

2008 race calendar coming soon
The aim of our club is to preserve pre-65 motorcycles and to encourage there use. We organise and run around 9 scrambles each year and cater for many classes of classic scrambler. We boast the highest membership of any classic scrambles club in the UK, nearly 300 members. So why not come along to one of our events? Checkout the calendar below for dates. If you are interested in joining click on the membership link on the left.
How did the Pre-65 Motocross Club begin?
The Pre 65 Motocross Club was established in 1982 and originally consisted of a small group of riders. These riders would provide
demonstrations of classic scramblers at modern motocross meetings. Little did they know they were involved in the start of what
is now the largest classic motocross club in England. With over 300 members, the club continues to grow and the 2005 season will
see the club host 9 meetings at 5 separate venues across the East and South of England.
What Championships does the Pre 65 MXC run?
The Pre 65 Motocross Club runs a host of different championships to suit everyone and all machines. These consist of Pre 60,
Pre 65, Pre 74, Greeves-Only, Rider Age Related, Sports Class (non-competitive), Racing Class(competitive) and Sidecar Championships.
With such a veritable plethora of championships, the average rider can expect 5-7 races over a single meeting, each race consisting, on average, of 5 laps.
The Pre 60, Greeves and Sidecar
Championships are all supported by the Pre 65 MXC and riders will gain points for each race. The other classes e.g. Pre 65,
Pre 74 etc. are supported but championships are not run in these classes. Instead, these non-championship classes are put on
to give riders more races during each race meeting, thus increasing their enjoyment...and aches and pains the following day!
How do I start racing?
Check out the Pre 65 MXC's Guide to getting started.
This includes our membership form, also available from our Downloads page along with our Club Rules.
Racing not your thing? Why not Marshal for us and get close to the action?
Anyone can be a marshal, you must be over 16 years of age and you will be paid £20, plus free lunch from the burger van for the day. We rotate marshals between
points around the circuit so you can get close to the action at various points of the circuit. Training is available on the day of the scramble.
