How to start Scrambling Membership Secretary: Geoff Collard Telephone: 01895 622012
Here is the Pre 65 Motocross Club's guide to getting started...
Ok, I want to race scramblers. What's first?
You'll need to fill out our Club Membership Form (Microsoft Word Document format)
Done that, what next?
You'll need to send your completed club membership form to the address supplied on the form, along with a cheque for the membership fee and a SAE
Then...
You will receive your club membership card and an AMCA membership application form signed by a Pre 65 Motocross Club official. At this point you can either fill out the AMCA form, send it off with a cheque for £45 and you'll receive your AMCA race license, which is valid from the beginning of January to the end of December. Alternatively, if you are going to do less than 3 scrambles it would be cheaper to purchase a Day AMCA licence. This can be done by circling "Yes" next to "Do you need a day AMCA licence?" when sending your entry form to the race secretary (more about entryforms below).
Why do I need an AMCA license?
The Pre 65 Motocross Club is affiliated with the AMCA and race meetings are run in-line with AMCA regulations. As part of your AMCA license, you will be provided with insurance. You will not be allowed to race without an AMCA race license, you must have an annual AMCA licence or a day licence.
I've got my Pre 65 Motocross Club membership and AMCA race license. How do I enter for a race meeting?
You can download the generic entry form on the entry forms page. Prices for the event and day licence are on the form. One month before each race meeting date, fill out and send the relevant entry form to the secretary of the meeting, who's address will be supplied on the regs form also on the entry forms page. If the secretary does not receive this form at least 10 days before the date of the meeting, you will be classed as a late entry and refused entry to that meeting. This rule is strictly enforced.
Will I receive confirmation from the race meeting secretary indicating they have received my entry form?
Yes. A note will be sent to your address, prior to the race meeting, confirming you have been entered for the race meeting.
What else does my Pre 65 Motocross Club membership entitle me to?
- Free subscription to the quarterly Pre 65 Motocross Club Newsletter
- The right to vote at the Club AGM
- Discounts at various Motorcycle stores around England
